What you need to know before you buy
What is a PDF pattern?
PDF patterns are digital pattern pieces arranged on A4 or another format. The advantage of PDF patterns is their quick use. You don't have to wait for anything, just download and print, assemble, and glue them on your home printer, and you can start sewing within a few minutes. Advantages over paper patterns:
- You can print an electronic PDF pattern again anytime, while a paper one cannot be
- Pattern delivery is immediate; you can prepare fabrics and start sewing almost immediately after payment
- You will receive pattern updates as soon as they are released, which is not possible with paper patterns
Can I also buy a paper pattern?
Yes, you can buy paper patterns here
How can I pay?
In our e-shop you can pay with an online payment card, PayPal, Revolut transfer or Revolut card. It is also possible to use a bank transfer, but you must expect a delay in the delivery of the pattern to your email inbox.
How long does the pattern delivery take?
When paying at the checkout by bank transfer, you will receive a link to download the patterns within 3 days. Bank transfers are automatically matched twice a day, so it is important to enter the correct variable symbol to ensure a smooth payment and to send the exact amount. If you pay by card, the payment is processed immediately, and an invoice and download link will be sent to your email within a few minutes.
Do I need to register on the website?
You are automatically registered when you make a purchase. You can then log in with a one-time code.
Are the patterns suitable for beginners?
Yes, the patterns are accompanied by a photographic tutorial, where I explain step-by-step how to sew each part. Patterns that are not suitable for beginners will be clearly marked as "Advanced".
What do Shibaba's patterns include?
The patterns contain a complete pattern appendix, which includes:
- A pattern in A4 format for printing, and some also include a pattern for an A1 plotter, and others for an A0 plotter. We are gradually creating new patterns in smaller formats.
- An ebook with instructions for assembling the pattern and a photo tutorial in PDF for inline viewing.
Can I buy the finished product? Not just the pattern?
Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment. I am not currently selling any finished products
Do patterns include seam allowances?
Older patterns include seam allowances, and new ones currently do not. Based on our experience, we decided to test patterns without seam allowances, as beginners found them problematic when working with multi-part patterns and rigid materials. We are gradually replacing all patterns with this format and are thinking about how to further simplify sewing for beginners. Patterns with seam allowances are marked, as are patterns without seam allowances.
Do the patterns have video tutorials?
Not all of them, but some are
